Okay well I made a Tumblr. Yes I’m a victim of the Tumblr plague. BUT it’s so cool.

Seriously. College is dominating my life. It’s pretty obvious from my blog. My blog just gets more and more concentrated wtih college related posts.
I started to become a fond of NYU, main reason being that it’s in the city, NYC :D. I love the city. I know I’ve been whining about the horrific possibility of getting rejected by Binghamton or Rutgers. And I know I tend to steer away from schools with price tags of not limit. However, I just can’t imagine not being in the city. Okay we there are also Hunter… and City. But my ultimate goal isn’t to get into a CUNY school (with the except of their honors programs). Otherwise, why would I even bother stressing? NYU isn’t ivy-legaue competitive. While Ivy Leagues tend to accept only a 10th of their applicants, NYU accepts a 3rd (more or less I believe). Still pretty competitive. I can’t do much with my GPA to make all nice and shiny for colleges. Too late. I just have to stick with that 94. :/. What I need is to improve on my SATs, greatly!. I need to somehow come close to a 2000. I’m not so afraid of the math section. I just need to practice avoiding stupid mistakes. As for writing, I just need to brush up on grammar rules a tad more. However reading comprehension still is a bitch. D:. Why? Why? Why. I seriously need to boost my score up by 60 points on that section or more. Seriously 600 (currently have a 510 as average score) would have been the ideal score for me, but with such limited time, I think have stick with a more realistic goal. I guess I just have to do drill work. Section after section. That’s all I can do. Tomorrow (more like later today) I need to ask the college office if sending in my SATs scores late is okay. I am taking the October one (and am doing reg. decision) but I feel like its highly necessary for me to take the December one as well. So scared of the college office tells me no. Oh please don’t say no. I’ll die. The deadline for reg. decision is Jan 1 for most schools but my school required it done by sometime in December.
wait i just realized i can just send my scores to colleges on the day i take the exam. ha. but hmm how will score choice work. okay that’s a question i must ask.
aights. i need to stop blabering about colleges. something new. even if it means fangirling over villa. soon that will become a problem on wordpress. acutally it’s already becoming a problem.. or is it already a problem?

The last time I read Kite Runner was in 8th grade. Well now I have to read for my senior year honors English class.
I don’t think I took the time appreciate the language Khaled Hosseini used to tell the tale of Amir and Hassan. My homework this weekend was to read chapters 3,4,5. When I was reading chapter 3 today, already in the first paragraphy, I found his description of Amir’s father, “Baba”, to be mezmerizing.
Lore has it my father once wrestled a black bear in Baluchistan with his bare hands. If the story had been about anyone else, it would have been dismissed as a laaf, that Afghan tendency to exaggerate-sadly, almost a national afflictions; if someone bragged that his son was a doctor, chances were the kid had once passed a biology test in high school. But no one ever doubted the veracity of any story about Baba. And if they did, well, Baba did have the three parallel scars coursing a jagged path down his back. I have imagined Bab’s wrestling match countless times, even dreamed about it. And in those dreams, I can never tell Baba from the bear.

I could have went on and on with the excerpts, but that would have been the whole book :p. I don’t believe this is the best one in the book but yet it still managed to excite me. I wish was able to use words with such creativity.
I wish I had everything college related under my belt.
I wish I got the decent score when I took the SATs in March. Now I have to take it again.
The thought of college in general stresses me out so much. I feel actually kind of sick thinking about it. Which colleges will guarantee me a future, what college will I end up in, will I fit in into my college, and a infinity amount of other stuff. My SATs score, if I do get a 1950+, will save me from ending up in a meh/terrible school. I’m really thankful for that 4 I got in AP Chem. Man I really thought I was going to get a 2 or 3 on that. Yikes!
In March I got a terrible 1660 >_>. During the summer however, I practiced alot. I would do a section of a practice exam each day timed, and grade it. By the end of August, I increased to a mean score 1850. To be honest, in a way that’s something to be proud of because I pretty increased by approximately 190 points… close to 200. However, 1850 isn’t a diamond score. 1900 is kinda of the minimum score I want.
Lately, meaning for the past 2 days, I ‘ve thinking of singing up for the December exam as well. I’ll just cancel it, even it means paying extra fees, if I do well. One thing though, I’m afraid that I wont be able to study hard for that one. If I do take it in December, I really expect myself to get a 1950+ by then. It’s a huge jump, like a 100 points, but if I try, I think I can do it. I really want to continue the whole a section a day thing, but I have AP Calculus BC and AP Computer Science A to worry about. Actually its more of Calc BC that will end up consuming my time. >_>. Right now we are doing a semi-precalc review, mainly limits. Soon, the course will become tougher, and I’m sure by December, it’ll be mucho hard, esp. since our class has to finish the AB syllabus by January. This week I kinda let myself procrastinate like today. Every time I do that, I’m just haunted by guilt. I have so much to worry about, yet I let myself take long periods of breathers this week.
I know that writing about this here is kinda redundant since the few couple of entries were kind of about the same subject but writing it here somehow relieves my stress :p. What I need is a schedule. A set one.
All I can really do is not to give up. A part of me cries for a day where I can rest without feeling guilty about it. From time to time I remind that voice that he can stop crying once next year’s post-AP season begins: the time when I finally confirm the college I will attend and be finished with my APs.
Even if plans don’t go as I planed them to go, I can’t give up.
We can always dream, but If we don’t try to make that dream happen, we’ll still be dreaming.
I can’t seem to finish things on time. Mainly cause of the SATs. With so much extra time now that I end at 7th rather than 10th in terms of periods, I shouldn’t be up at time of hour :/.
Just finished my calc hw and now I have to practice my lines for English and study calc. *Sigh*. I can always skip the studying calc part since I don’t have any exams coming up. But I can’t start that bad habit of skipping study time :p. I need to do well this year. I made mistakes in chem. Now I need to fix them.
Anyways. Lately I’ve been thinking. Why exactly do I not want to continue Spanish. It’s not that bad of a language. Sure I didn’t have great classes cause of my teachers. However, I have enough vocabulary and grammar knowledge to start again not exactly from scratch. I don’t want to take it in college though since I want to pursue German there (not as a major) (i’m taking it now as well, where i get to do 2 years of it in 2 semesters :D). In addition to Spanish, I want to learn more Malayalam and start on Tamil :D. I have so many goals I want to achieve but I really need to take action to make them happen instead sitting here writing about them. Going back to Spanish, I have an urge to watching soccer football in Spanish. Commentators = wayyy more exciting. Plus David Villa :D and Iker Casillas LOL. No seriously. I hate to let go of a language that I’ve be learning for 4 years. Can’t let that go to waste -_-. I still have that handy red AMSCO book with all the grammar rules and stuff. That can come in handy. After SAT :D … I’m definitely going to try this. I’ll even try now if I get the chance to :p. Hopefully, in a couple of years. I can go to Spain to visit and not get lost there :p. lmao.

I started to go to the temple more but I can’t seem to get in to he idea that god created the world. But I find myself praying. I think its having faith itself is what I’m into. I feel like its a kinda of drug… not a harmful drug. A drug that makes me feel better, like the rest of them, but has no negative side effects. I don’t care about the existence of god you know :p. Despite of what ppl say about that, I still have no opinion on it. But I do think Hindu Gods look awesome. Ganesh :D!
I miss going to the Buddhist temple. I’m not exactly Buddhist :p but I learn good stuff from their dharma class.

Today was the first day of school. The last first day of High School.
Next year, I’ll be in college (or university… whatever its proper name is). dum dum dum.
It’s a scary thought. What if I’m not prepared D:. That’s the big one that’s been on my mind.
However, before I can eve think of any of that, I have to first survive senior year and even before that, college applications. So I want to major in Computer Science, and hopefully in the future a major recession that make burden out of all the comp. fields will overlap with when I graduate with a bachelors, or masters degree (if i do go for masters). *Sigh*. It always seems like the computer fields get heavily attacked by the evil economical downturns. Everytime I tell my friends I want to major in Computer Science and become a Network Secuirty person (forget the name of the job title… good job to me -_____-), they always tell me … oh don’t IT ppl get laid off easily. -___-. It seems like everyone associates IT with lay off. And maybe that’s the reality. However I seem to like the field, and my liking keeps on growing. I used to want to do pharmacy but I am not a science person. There maybe some science in the comp sci major, I am not sure, however pharmacy is definitely more science based. I don’t need to suffer through 7 years of concentrated chemistry/biology courses D:. I suffered through AP Chem already last year. Its definately because I didn’t understand science. I would work really hard for that class but nothing went through my anti-science brain.
So bottom line before I digress as usual, I am not going to let layoffs scare me about my future. It’s not like all the other jobs are 100% stable. I just have to keep on moving forward :p. forward. forward. and work hard as a do… definitely
Anyways first day. First day was fine but awkward in terms of schedule as compared to the first days of previous years (but not by that much). I guess it had to do with Rosh Hassanah overlapping with first week of school. Usually the day we recieve our program cards is different from that of the first day of classes. But this year both are on the same day, today. So basically we, seniors (and juniors) had to get get to school 8:30 for reports cards and then go back to school around 10:15 and attend our fourth pd class. The periods were cut short to 30 minutes and I believe the last class was 9th (usually its 10th). I end at 7th so I get out earlier (today at 12:30 and from now onwards, 1:30ish?).
So my classes this year:
AP Comp Sci (java), Accelerated German, Tennis, Government, English, AP Calculus BC (this one seems scary lolol)
Hopefully I’ll survive. Everything about this year seems so stressful. I just have to keep focus. So far, I’ve been keeping a habit of going to the library often and doing my study time there. It seems to be working because over at home, I can’t get anything done on time or enough done. At the library, it’s really quiet and I’m far away from distractions unless if I decide to resort the computer and go do pointless browsing the internet (but I don’t feel like going through the whole process of signing up for a session and waiting you know :p).
Anyways I want to get off the school subject for now. I don’t want it to dominate the post and the rest of my enteries. I need to talk about some interesting topics for once even if it means nitpicking for them. Well I’ve recently been into online t-shirt business. It seems really fun and a seemingly easy way to start a first business. Johnny Durham from Youtube got me into this (i dont know him in person :p but he talked about it in his videos).

I like how cute his shirts are even if they are simplistic and not so much out of the ordinary. But that’s okay, it’s not like they are cockroach ugly that makes me want to avoid them as much as possible. They are cute :D (as said before).
It’d be cool to start one I went to college. If I did, my roommates would probably be pissed :p but I’ll see how that goes. Obviously if I want to start one, I need a good theme. That’s probably what will attract customers the most. I always like the idea of doing cute ts of the Buddha (or even the laughing one) or some Hindu gods/goddess. I’m not super religious but I admire those figures from the appearance. It’s so I dunno. Of course I admire the Buddha for his philosophy and the Hinduism (can’t really say Hindu deities) for its but I’m talking about t-shirts here. They don’t do shirts much really but I don’t want to make my stuff look like theirs. damnit LOL I really like their concept. But other than them, I haven’t really seen and cute portrayal of Hinduism or Buddhism. :p in shirt form.
Well yes now the design. The really why I like this tshirt business idea is because it’ll help me keep focus on what stuff to design on photoshop. I usually use Photoshop for fun and it ends up beign pointless. I want to get my vectoring skill (what skills?) together and put it into use. Maybe this will help. So yeah once again.. the design. I’d have to think of a nice design… maybe some randomly doodling on my binder will help?
Well that’s all I have for the shirt related stuff. Now I feel like taking about my future stuff again (the whole shirt idea falls into that category actually). I want to move to Singapore when I get older :D. Seriously. I just love how clean that place is. I don’t think I’ll have that much of a problem coping with their harsh rules … well the gum one as of now. But I can certainly get rid of that one. It’s not like they ban masala dosa or anything :p. Speaking of masala dosa, they have a place called Little India :D concentrated with Tamil people horray. (tamil ppl make up most of Singapore’s indian population; even some of the gov’s board members are tamil). I always loved tamil food, songs… and maybe their culture altogether … but I don’t know. I do love their language. I’m of Kerala decent (malayali ppl place) but we do have some similarities going on since Tamil Nadu is our next door neighbor. Its not just about the Tamil people that intrigues me the most about Little India, :p. It’s the color. The stores. The culture!. The place has culture. There’s a Little India in Jackson Heights here in NYC but I can’t really feel the culture except from the abundance of desi people and stores. Well instead of going on about that Little India of Singapore… here are some picts :p.

So summer, summer, summer… how was my summer?
Summer has been okay thus far. It doesn’t seem like it was heavily productive but it was probably my most productive summer of all summers (if that makes any sense).
Well basically, the past July and August were concentrated with major SAT studying. I’ll admit… I did slack off at times… but not by too much.
In terms of art and stuff, I haven’t done much. Like (not sure if i wrote about this piece earlier) I started my Shunsuke Nakamura vector during the very beginning of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The vector is far from its primitive stage but does need a lot of work. However, me being my lazy self, I haven’t done much work on it since mid July. *sigh*
Well to honest, although its September 2, its technically still summer since school only starts in 6 days >_>. Can I actually manage to do 100s of more layers before the 8th?
In terms of piano, its been semi-productive. I have been practicing a lot. Yes SAT studying does take away some of my potential practice time but whenever I do get the chance, I practice. I haven’t started on any new books yet ): and I’m not sure if I will any time soon since senior year is going to take its inauguration. No matter what though, even though the next step in life for me, after senior year, is college, I am definitely not going to quit on piano. Unlike the majority, I only started piano when I was around 12 D:. Sounds young buts its kinda late. However, even though its only been 5 years that I have been playing the piano, I have gotten pretty far in it. I’m definitely not an expert. No where near. Don’t try testing me with some Chopin pieces. I’ll most likely get my fingers tangled. I haven’t even done any sonatas yet. Just some sonatinas but that’s pretty much it. Yet even with my limited skills, I feel pretty determined to continue it. I don’t have anything else to count on in terms of the artistic field. I suck at drawing. Haven’t done any real photography. And haven’t really learned any other instruments. Quitting piano would be so bad for me because without piano, what else would I do. I don’t plan on starting anything new. At least for now.
Anyways, I have been thinking. This is completely off topic but, I don’t know much on Hinduism D:. Although that’s pretty much where a heck lot of my culture (yes Hinduism can be considered as a cultural thing) comes from, my knowledge proves me idiotic in the subject. I don’t know much about the major gods/goddess. I can’t distinguish Lakshmi from Sarasvati. I don’t know all (or at least most) forms of Vishnu. Worst of all, I don’t know much on its ideals D:. I wish I knew. Personally I’m not a religious person, meaning, I don’t really believe in god. But Hinduism, the culture at least, fascinates me. I love going to the temple nowadays. It used to be just to go the Dosa Hut place that is adjacent to the temple. But now its also because of the temple itself. I realize I never really learned much of these stuff as a child. As a child, my mom would take me to the temple and tell me to pray to help me in certain things in life and that’s it. The same thing at home. I never really understood it :p. I mean as a child, she would as tell me to sing to bhajans. But I never understood that concept either. How am I supposed to understand either concepts if I don’t know much on the religion itself. Ironically, my sister knows a lot more on it than I do. But that’s cause she always inquired about it and stuff. I never did. Well that’s cause I never wanted to.
I always wondered if a lot of Mallus around my age who were born and raised in America like me who are Hindus feel the same? It always seemed like that group of ppl aren’t really involved with hinduism so much as compared to the Telugus, Tamils, Gujuratis, and so on and so forth of that same category (age and background wise). I know too many Mallus like me who are from a Hindu background but aren’t religious? Why is that? I’m not sure if this is true but its just based on my perspective. To me, it always seemed like that. It can’t be because Hinduism is boring or something of the sorts. Then why is that the Telugus, Tamils and yeah the rest of India, seem so into it? At least a lot of them. I don’t think this makes much sense D:. I wish I could have explained it better but I just thought of this like an hour ago. Well the idea has been in my head for such a long time but only in a vague form. I only came across that thought just recently >_> .
Well now I want to learn more about Hinduism. :p It’d be really stupid of me to just forget about my culture like that. Now, how am I going to do this?
AP Chem is pretty done. That huge source of burden is finally demolished.
However, I’m still not stress free. In around 2-3 weeks, my two SAT II exams are coming up.
Math II and Chemistry. I’m aiming for over a 750 on both. Quite a goal but hopefully I can manage it.
Chemistry won’t be something of the impossible for me study for. Mainly because I reviewed almost all the topics for AP Chemistry for the AP exam. Being that I still have those chem stuff lurking in my head and SAT II chem is much more easier than AP, I shouldn’t do so poorly. Well after taking a diagnostic, I realized I still suck at laboratory, stoic., and descriptive chem. So hopefully after working on those topics, I should be fine.
As for Math II, I only started studying for it yesterday. I’m still unaware of exactly all the topics I have to know for the exam. I know there are stuff I haven’t learned yet that I must cover for the exam. That kinda scares me because I only have less than 3 weeks to perfect all the topics needed for the exam. Plus I don’t remember everything I learned so I have to review those as well. Since I know as of now, I’m pretty much unprepared for SAT II Math, I didn’t take the diagnostic test yet. xD. I’ll try that out this saturday or something.
Since chemistry was a disaster for me this year, where it was a subject that I can never do well in no matter how much I tried, I plan on changing my field of interest. I always thought of getting into the pharmacy field. Well that has changed. Now I plan on getting into the computer science field (IT to be specific). I’m still learning about the field
So with that said, now I have to look up colleges once again and make up my mind on which ones I’m interested in. XD
Ah so yeah that’s it for school stuff. :p.
Well I’ve been revisiting rock music after a long time of venturing into random music. I still listened to rock but just the ones I had in my library already. I really didn’t give a crap of what I was listening to because well I kinda concentrating on schoolwork. Well I haven’t done much researching at all. But I’m slowly getting myself back into the genre.
Right now, I’m listening to Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin III. My dad had this album around the house for a long, before I was born most likely. He used to play it time to now. Now it’s been a long while since he had. So far, I’m liking this album. Of course I love Stairway to Heaven, but I also love Four Sticks, and Black Dog as well. I also love Going to California thus far (currently listening to it) for its serenity. Guitaring = Love.
I’m also getting myself more exposed with Red Hot Chili Peppers. The only two songs I knew before this week was Dani California and Snow. Well now I’m also into Under the Bridge and Californication. Guitaring = Love, once again. I guess what makes a rock song really good is the guitaring, primarily. I mean all of the elements has to sound good to make a song decent. Like a song with awesome guitaring but terrible drumming, bass guitaring, and vocal, usually comes out as crap. But in my perspective, the guitar aspect has to be really good. It doesn’t have to be a crazy complex solo something like the one in Hendrix’s Bold as Love. As long as it’s mainly melodious, its fine to my ears. Death metal guitaring are somethings the one of the very complex ones but not always appreciate-able if it just sounds like a bunch of random notes stuck together (sorry for my limited guitar vocab).
Oh yeah, I just finished “When the Levee Breaks”. I love that one too @_@.
Well the album was really awesome. I’m prolly listen to it again pretty soon. And now my iTunes decides to play a random indian song now that its done playing the album.
